How about joining one of our groups that “pre-reads” next Sunday’s scriptures?

While new or upcoming things tend get the major space in our Sunday bulletin, once-in-a-while it is good to hi-light regular programs that run all the time and welcome newcomers to join whenever they like. An example of these would be our two weekly Bible studies—one on Sunday mornings at 11:05 (after the 10:00 am Mass) that meets in the Multi-purpose Room attached to the school, and the other that gathers on most Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm in the rectory.

Training for “new” and “veteran” liturgical ministers at Notre Dame Parish

Fr. Mark has reminded us over and over again that in the Gospel accounts the Risen Lord never appears to his disciples without having an assignment for them. Perhaps something that he is calling you to is a bigger part in our liturgical life at Notre Dame. Especially with the adding of the extra Sunday morning Mass could use more liturgical ministers of every stripe. The remaining weeks of the Easter season then, we are running a mini-marathon of training opportunities for new (and a renewal for already-experienced) sacristans, extraordinary ministers of communion, readers, and ushers.

A handout with detailed information on this important issue is available on the table in the back of the church.

Please contact your Congressman Sean Duffy and let him know that you support the House leadership in their efforts to intervene in the lawsuits challenging DOMA, to defend the law and protect marriage.
